Technical Sales Representative, Water Testing

About the role

We are looking for a Technical Sales Representative specialized in water testing to join our team in Addis Ababa. You will be the first sales hire, reporting directly to the General Manager, and will travel across Ethiopia to support NGOs, utilities, universities and industry.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with NGOs, WASH programmes, municipal water utilities, universities, laboratories, bottlers and industrial customers.
• Demonstrate Palintest photometers, comparators and field test kits (Potatest, Potakit, Potalab) and provide hands‑on training.
• Advise clients on appropriate products and testing methods for their water‑quality parameters.
• Prepare quotations, pro‑formas and support tender submissions.
• Maintain the sales pipeline in the CRM system and follow each deal through delivery and after‑sales support.
• Travel to customer sites in Addis Ababa and regional locations.

Required profile

• BSc or higher in chemistry, environmental science, biology, water‑resources engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in technical sales, laboratory work or water‑quality testing.
• Ability to explain testing methods to laboratory technicians and proposals to procurement officers.
• Fluent in Amharic and proficient in written and spoken English; other Ethiopian languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel outside Addis Ababa; a driving licence is advantageous.
• Organised, self‑directed and comfortable working to sales targets.

Required skills

• Reagent handling and instrument calibration.
