Volunteer Coordinator – Events & Translation Support

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated volunteer to support the Ethiopian Translators Association in Addis Ababa. The role involves assisting with event organization, translation projects, and outreach activities, providing essential administrative support to ensure the association’s programs run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing association events, workshops, and meetings, handling logistics, communication, and documentation.
• Support translation‑related projects by preparing, reviewing, and editing written materials.
• Maintain member records, communication channels, and internal databases.
• Draft informational content, engage with members and partners, and help manage social media platforms.
• Collaborate closely with association leadership to coordinate ongoing initiatives.

Required profile

• Clear written and spoken English; knowledge of one or more Ethiopian languages is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities with a capacity to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Basic computer literacy, including word processing, email, and online communication tools.
• Interest in translation, interpreting, or language services and a reliable, professional attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and respect members and partners.
