Accountability Officer

About the role

The Accountability Officer will lead the implementation of community feedback and response mechanisms to ensure transparent, inclusive, and community‑centered project delivery. The role supports integration of humanitarian standards, safeguards, and inclusive programming across project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain community feedback and complaint response mechanisms using the digital accountability platform (DAP).
• Provide technical guidance on accountability frameworks, ensure timely information sharing with communities, and monitor the functionality of feedback systems.
• Collect, analyse, and share community feedback with project and MEAL teams to improve program quality.
• Identify and refer sensitive complaints (e.g., safeguarding, PSEA, fraud) through established referral pathways.

Required profile

• University degree in sociology, social work, social science, monitoring & data management or a related field.
• 2‑3 years field‑based experience with accountability and MEAL activities in emergency contexts.
• Proven experience establishing a functional accountability system for large‑scale humanitarian programmes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with mobile data collection tools such as Kobo, CommCare and ODK Collect.
• Experience designing and conducting mixed‑methodology surveys, from design to reporting.
