Accountant (Hospitality & Travel)

About the role

The Accountant will join Jinka Resort and Travel Agency’s finance team in Adis Zemen, supporting the resort’s day‑to‑day financial operations. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures accurate recording of transactions and provides reliable financial information for management decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Record all income and expense transactions, process invoices and maintain up‑to‑date ledgers.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports and budget monitoring documents.
• Perform bank reconciliations, oversee cash handling and support cash‑flow management.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian accounting standards, tax regulations and internal control policies.
• Assist internal and external auditors by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Collaborate with operations and management teams to deliver transparent financial data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience in bookkeeping and financial statement preparation, preferably in hospitality or travel.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and solid organizational skills.
• Effective communication abilities and a collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets, reporting and basic financial analysis.
