Business Development Specialist (Chinese)

About the role

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking a Business Development Specialist fluent in Chinese to support its operations in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The role focuses on generating new business, expanding market share, and strengthening relationships with prospective customers across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Execute business development plans to achieve customer growth, revenue targets, and budget objectives.
• Conduct market and feasibility studies to assess potential and analyze target groups.
• Identify and engage prospective customers, understand their strategic challenges, and match their needs with DHL services.
• Develop leads, prepare proposals, conduct negotiations, and close new business deals.
• Maintain and build relationships with key accounts and coordinate activities with internal sales and product teams.
• Collaborate with local, district, and regional management to align customer requests with service offerings.

Required profile

• Strong commercial mindset with a focus on customer acquisition and retention.
• Ability to conduct market research and feasibility analysis.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially with Chinese‑speaking prospects.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude and capacity to work independently.

Required skills

• Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English.
