Community Development Worker – Landscape Restoration

About the role

World Vision is seeking a Community Development Worker to support landscape restoration and livelihood interventions in Kamba Zuria and Zalla woreda, Ethiopia. The role focuses on implementing project activities at the grassroots level in partnership with local administrations and community leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and map degraded communal lands for restoration, working with local authorities and community leaders.
• Register vulnerable households and groups for restoration and livelihood programmes.
• Support production, transport and planting of fruit and multi‑purpose tree seedlings in community nurseries.
• Assist project officers in collecting and encoding baseline and end‑line data for analysis.
• Provide technical assistance during restoration activities and promote agroforestry, SWC, and FMNR practices.
• Conduct regular progress assessments, report gaps, and propose timely solutions.
• Maintain continuous follow‑up on restored sites and mobilise communities for ongoing land management.

Required profile

• Degree in Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Community Development or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of field experience in landscape restoration, agroforestry, or rural livelihood projects.
• Familiarity with the local context and ability to work with community stakeholders.
• Valid motorcycle driving skill for field mobility.
