Curriculum Development Advisor

About the role

This volunteer placement supports the Ethiopian Ministry of Labour and Skills in strengthening the TVET system. You will work directly with local partners to institutionalise Competency‑Based Training and align curricula with international industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct industrial gap analyses and facilitate DACUM workshops with local industry leaders.
• Develop modular, competency‑based curricula that incorporate Green TVET principles and digital literacy.
• Create assessment banks, including practical projects, oral exams and observation checklists, to ensure the Certificate of Competency is valued by employers.
• Support the certification of local Lead Trainers to sustain pedagogical autonomy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or vocational training‑related field (Master’s degree is an asset).
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in technical and vocational training systems and 2 years of industry experience.
• Knowledge of trainer development, technology transfer and digital training tools.

Required skills

• Competency‑Based Training (CBT) methodology.
• DACUM workshop facilitation.
• Curriculum design for modular, practical programmes.
• Development of standardized assessment tools.
