Database Administrator (DBA)

About the role

The Database Administrator will ensure the performance, integrity, security, and availability of databases supporting TOPPAN Security’s software solutions and client environments. The role involves planning, implementing, and maintaining both on‑premises and cloud database systems while collaborating with development, operations, and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain database servers (on‑premises and cloud) for internal and client use.
• Monitor performance, tune queries, and optimize schemas, indexes, and storage.
• Implement security controls, manage access, and conduct audit processes.
• Perform regular backups, restorations, and disaster‑recovery testing.
• Design and maintain data models, stored procedures, views, and triggers.
• Support development teams with data‑related issues and test data preparation.
• Participate in deployment planning, execution, and post‑deployment support.
• Travel to client sites for implementations, upgrades, and troubleshooting as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in a software development or IT services environment.
• Strong command of English and ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Experience with replication, high availability, and disaster‑recovery strategies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with at least one major RDBMS: PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
• Experience with cloud database services such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database.
• Scripting and automation skills (SQL, Bash, PowerShell).
• Database performance tuning, backup/restore, and security best practices.
