Director of Communication, Public Relations & Engagement

About the role

We are looking for a visionary Director of Communication, Public Relations & Engagement to join our executive leadership team. This senior position will shape the institution’s narrative, build global partnerships, and lead a high‑performing communications team in a mission‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute a comprehensive communication and PR strategy aligned with the organization’s vision and values.
• Lead storytelling initiatives, media relations, press releases, and crisis communication preparedness.
• Oversee internal and external channels to ensure consistent, professional messaging.
• Develop and manage a multi‑platform social‑media strategy, including content creation, publishing, and performance optimisation.
• Analyse social‑media metrics and digital analytics to refine content and grow audience engagement.
• Create and implement annual marketing plans, brand campaigns, and promotional collateral.
• Conduct market research, manage advertising across digital, print and outdoor media, and measure campaign effectiveness.
• Identify, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships with governments, NGOs, private sector and donors.
• Represent the organization at high‑level meetings, forums and public events.
• Lead, mentor and develop the communications, PR, marketing and digital media team, set KPIs and manage budgets.
