Field Security Coordinator

About the role

The Field Security Coordinator supports the Response Security Manager in planning and implementing effective security measures for World Vision’s Response Office programmes in Ethiopia. The role ensures a safe operating environment, mitigates operational risks, and upholds a culture of security across the national office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the office security strategy in line with World Vision security policies.
• Conduct and update Security Risk Assessments, Country Risk Ratings, and Core Security Requirements.
• Lead and manage country security focal persons, providing guidance and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with the Response Manager and Security Manager on crisis response, critical incidents, and security investigations.
• Represent World Vision at local NGO security network meetings and disseminate relevant information to staff.
• Build and maintain networks for sharing security information and coordination.
• Coordinate capacity‑building plans for security management based on local risk assessments.
• Promote a culture of security awareness and monitor staff compliance.
• Prepare regular security reports for the Response Office, regional teams, and Corporate Security.
• Ensure all security incidents are reported according to World Vision policy.

Required profile

• No criminal record or convictions.
• Successful completion of the HEAT training course within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to act as the Response Security Manager in their absence.
• Strong understanding of security risk assessment and mitigation in humanitarian contexts.
