Google Cloud Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Google Cloud Data Engineer to join our cloud and data practice. The role involves designing, building and optimizing modern data platforms on Google Cloud Platform for enterprise customers, enabling advanced analytics and AI/ML initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise‑scale data platforms on GCP, including data lake, warehouse and lakehouse architectures.
• Build robust batch and real‑time data pipelines using Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Composer and Pub/Sub.
• Develop data ingestion, transformation and orchestration frameworks and integrate data from on‑premise, SaaS and multi‑cloud sources.
• Enable analytics and reporting with BigQuery and support AI/ML projects by preparing datasets for Vertex AI.
• Implement data governance, security, IAM policies and data quality, lineage and observability controls.
• Monitor and optimise BigQuery workloads, drive FinOps best practices and ensure cost‑effective resource utilisation.
• Engage directly with enterprise customers to gather requirements, conduct workshops and act as a trusted technical advisor.

Required profile

• Current, active Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification (mandatory).
• Proven experience designing and operating data platforms on GCP for large enterprises.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security and regulatory compliance in cloud environments.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
