Health & Nutrition Officer – Mobile Health (Moyale)

About the role

The Health & Nutrition Officer will lead the technical quality and delivery of mobile health and nutrition services in the assigned woreda of Moyale. Reporting to the Health Nutrition Coordinator, the officer ensures implementation of screening, OTP, outreach, EPI, health education and safe motherhood activities according to Somali RHB guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Improve basic preventive health care at community level, including immunisation and nutrition services.
• Conduct primary health care consultations and provide treatment following national protocols.
• Strengthen coordination between the community, health extension workers and the woreda health bureau.
• Facilitate admission and case management for children in OTP and stabilization centres, and train HEWs on severe acute malnutrition management.
• Supervise and support community volunteers and ensure timely referral of severe cases to health facilities.
• Manage daily drug and nutrition supply, maintain job aids, and verify weekly reports from health workers.
• Provide on‑site training and mentorship to health extension workers and nurses.
• Monitor defaulters and maintain accurate beneficiary records.

Required profile

• BSc or College Diploma in Nursing or a related health field.
• Minimum four years of relevant experience, including at least two years with an NGO.
• Proven experience in nutrition and health programme implementation, data collection and training of health workers.
• Fluency in the local language and ability to work independently in remote or insecure settings.
