Internal Medicine Specialist (Internist) – Full‑time

About the role

Chechela Medical & Surgical Center is seeking a qualified Internal Medicine Specialist to join its growing clinical team in Addis Ababa. The role involves delivering comprehensive adult inpatient and outpatient care, applying evidence‑based medicine, and collaborating with multidisciplinary colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and inpatient medical care for adult patients.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions across a broad range of internal‑medicine specialties.
• Conduct detailed clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Interpret laboratory results, imaging studies, ECGs, and other diagnostic investigations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care, make referrals, and respond to medical emergencies.
• Maintain accurate, timely medical documentation and participate in quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• MD with a recognized Specialty Certificate in Internal Medicine.
• Valid Ethiopian license to practice as an Internist.
• Minimum two years of post‑specialization clinical experience.
• Strong diagnostic, clinical decision‑making and patient‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Interpretation of laboratory results.
• Interpretation of imaging studies.
• ECG interpretation.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
