IT Officer

About the role

People First Consult is recruiting an IT Officer on behalf of a confidential client in the automotive sector. The successful candidate will provide technical support, maintain IT equipment and systems, and make sure employees have the technology and resources they need to do their jobs. The client is a large international business group expanding into Ethiopia's automotive sector.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to employees and troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues.
• Install, configure and maintain computers, printers, software and other IT equipment.
• Set up user accounts, email addresses and access permissions.
• Monitor internet connectivity and keep IT systems running properly.
• Maintain IT equipment and keep records of assigned devices and accessories.
• Assist with data backups, system updates and basic cybersecurity practices.
• Support employees with IT questions and coordinate equipment repairs with external service providers.
• Perform other IT-related duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills, and ability to work independently while supporting several employees.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and common workplace applications.
• Technical troubleshooting, teamwork, time management and willingness to learn and adapt.
