Legal Officer I – Insurance Sector

About the role

The Legal Officer I will support Tsehay Insurance S.C. in delivering high‑quality legal services across its operations. Reporting to the senior legal team, the incumbent will handle routine legal matters, ensure compliance with Ethiopian law, and assist in contract management.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, policies, and other legal documents.
• Provide legal advice to internal departments on regulatory and compliance issues.
• Assist in handling claims, disputes, and litigation support.
• Monitor changes in legislation relevant to the insurance sector and advise on necessary actions.
• Maintain organized legal files and documentation.

Required profile

• LLB degree in Law.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant legal experience.
• Proficiency in Afaan Oromo is preferred.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Legal research and drafting.
• Contract review and negotiation.
• Understanding of Ethiopian insurance regulations.
