Livelihood Delegate

About the role

The Livelihood Delegate provides specialised technical guidance on livelihood interventions within the IFRC’s Humane, Dignified, Sustainable Migration and Return Programme. Working from the IFRC Secretariat, the delegate ensures that livelihood standards and protection‑linked approaches are embedded across programme activities and supports National Societies in strengthening their capacities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical advice on livelihood strategies in line with IFRC policies, the Movement Migration Strategy and protection resolutions.
• Integrate livelihood standards and protection‑linked approaches into programme design, implementation and monitoring.
• Support National Societies and IFRC country teams to build institutional and operational capacity for livelihood interventions.
• Coordinate with the Swedish Red Cross and SIDA to ensure programme coherence and alignment with funding requirements.
• Contribute to quality assurance processes and reporting for the migration and return programme.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in livelihood programming within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong understanding of migration, displacement and protection frameworks.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including National Societies and international partners.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
