Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance Officer

About the role

The Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance Officer will lead community‑based cash and voucher assistance (CVA) programmes, ensuring they are delivered on time, with quality, and in line with World Vision’s values.

Key responsibilities

• Mobilise and sensitize communities, conduct entry meetings, awareness sessions and stakeholder briefings.
• Develop training materials, terms of reference, and logistics for field activities, integrating gender, protection and faith‑based values.
• Implement work plans, monitor progress, address challenges and ensure compliance with donor and government requirements.
• Lead MEAL systems for CVA, conduct baseline, midline and end‑line assessments, analyse data and produce regular reports.
• Identify and test innovative approaches, document lessons learned and support strategic scaling of effective interventions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, agriculture, rural development, development studies, business administration or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in humanitarian cash programming, micro‑finance or related sectors.
• Fluent oral and written Amharic, English and Afan Oromo; knowledge of local culture is mandatory.
• Ability to work in remote, challenging environments and conduct fieldwork in varied terrain and weather.

Required skills

• Experience with community‑based organisations and local government coordination.
• Familiarity with digital registration and cash transfer platforms.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and capacity‑building abilities.
