People and Culture Officer (Temporary, 6 months)

About the role

The People and Culture Officer supports UNICEF Ethiopia’s strategic and operational HR services, helping to attract, develop and retain a high‑performing, diverse workforce. Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, the role provides research, analysis and advisory support across talent acquisition, performance management, learning, workforce planning and HR data analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Provide research‑based advice to HR Business Partners and clients on HR policies, processes and issue resolution.
• Support the development and implementation of corporate HR strategies, benchmark best practices and contribute to global policy innovation.
• Assist in specific HR functions such as recruitment, job classification, performance management, learning & development and HR analytics.
• Design and deliver learning plans, map competencies and contribute to talent pipeline development.
• Collect, interpret and analyse HR data to inform decision‑making and improve data quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, International Relations, Sociology, Social Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in talent acquisition, performance management, learning & development, workforce planning, HR analytics or related HR functions.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language or local language is an asset.
