People and Culture Officer (Temporary, 6 months)

About the role

The People and Culture Officer supports the People and Culture Unit at UNICEF Ethiopia, delivering strategic and operational HR services to help achieve results for children across Ethiopia.

Key responsibilities

• Provide research, analysis and advisory support on talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, workforce planning and HR data analytics.
• Partner with managers to strengthen people management practices, promote organizational effectiveness and foster an inclusive workplace culture.
• Assist in implementing HR services such as recruitment, job classification, career development, performance management and learning initiatives.
• Collect, interpret and analyse HR data to inform decision‑making and support data‑quality improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, International Relations, Sociology, Social Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant HR experience covering talent acquisition, performance management, learning & development, workforce planning, HR analytics or related areas.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language or local language is an asset.

Required skills

• Experience with HR regulations and policies.
• Knowledge of HR data collection and analysis methods.
• Strong research and analytical capabilities.
