Political Affairs Officer (P4) – UN Personal Envoy for Sudan

About the role
The incumbent will serve as Political Affairs Officer in the Personal Envoy of the Secretary‑General for Sudan. Based in Addis Ababa, the role supports the Envoy’s good offices and political engagement with Sudanese, regional and international stakeholders, aiming for greater coherence, coordination and integration of the various mediation initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Personal Envoy’s efforts to end the Sudan conflict and relaunch a credible political process.
- Engage with Sudanese, regional and international partners to enhance coordination of mediation initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of political analysis and briefings for the Envoy.
- Report to the Principal Political Affairs Officer/Head of Office.
