Procurement Buyer – Hawassa

About the role

The Buyer will manage end‑to‑end procurement activities for Ethio telecom in Hawassa, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services that support the company’s digital transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify sourcing needs and prepare/issue RFQs or RFPs.
• Evaluate supplier offers and support contract negotiations in line with company policies.
• Maintain and update purchasing records and monitor order status.
• Coordinate with finance, logistics, and operational teams to guarantee on‑time delivery.
• Analyze pricing, quality and delivery performance to drive cost optimisation and risk mitigation.
• Support supplier performance reviews and uphold ethical procurement standards.
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of purchasing, sourcing and procurement processes, including RFQ/RFP preparation and bid evaluation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Economics or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in telecom, technology or large‑scale service organisations is an advantage.
• Ability to work on‑site in Hawassa and collaborate in a diverse, inclusive environment.
• High integrity and commitment to ethical procurement practices.
