Program Manager – Weather Initiative

About the role

Precision Development (PxD) is seeking a Program Manager to support the delivery and scale‑up of its Weather initiative in Ethiopia, with a focus on government relations and coordination across the channels used to deliver weather and climate information to farmers.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with government institutions and partners, representing PxD in meetings, technical working groups, workshops and conferences.
• Coordinate across multiple delivery channels, working with program, research, technology and content teams to plan, develop, test and roll out weather information and advisory services.
• Maintain implementation plans, timelines and responsibilities, monitoring progress and addressing challenges and risks.
• Organise stakeholder engagement activities such as meetings, trainings and demonstrations, and prepare briefing materials, presentations and reports for government and external audiences.
• Support program learning by tracking performance indicators, incorporating user feedback and evidence into channel and program improvements, and contributing to reports, donor updates and funding proposals.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in development studies, economics, agricultural economics, public policy, agriculture, environmental or climate science, communications or a related field.
• Significant professional experience in program management, government relations or partnership management, including direct work with Ethiopian government institutions.
• Strong understanding of Ethiopian government structures, processes and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience coordinating programs involving multiple stakeholders and delivery channels, preferably in agriculture, weather, climate or digital development.
• Fluency in English and Amharic, with the ability to communicate complex information to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Willingness and ability to travel within Ethiopia as required.
