Project Associate – Reintegration (Affiliate Contract)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks four Project Associates on an affiliate contract to support reintegration projects for returnees in Ethiopia. Working under the Senior Project Associate, you will contribute to protection and reintegration activities, coordinate with government and partner entities, and ensure effective case management.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct individual meetings with eligible returnees to assess needs, develop integrated reintegration plans, and provide follow‑up case monitoring.
• Coordinate with sending missions and local authorities to validate eligibility, approve assistance, and process payments.
• Maintain accurate beneficiary records in IOM’s Migrant Management Operational System (MiMOSA) and ensure data cleanliness.
• Support field missions, including training delivery, local procurement, and beneficiary monitoring, while liaising with procurement and finance units.
• Participate in the selection and oversight of implementing partners and contribute to community‑based planning activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, social work, international relations, or related field with at least three years relevant experience, or a school diploma with five years experience.
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, or other vulnerable groups, including counseling and referral services.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with government counterparts and partners.
• Fluency in English and Amharic (oral and written); knowledge of Afan Oromo or Tigrigna is desirable.
