Project Manager – FRESHWAY Project

About the role

SNV is seeking a Project Manager to lead the four‑year FRESHWAY project, which aims to strengthen Ethiopia’s fruit and vegetable agrologistics system along the Arba Minch–Hawassa–Addis Ababa–Modjo corridor. The role combines overall project management with technical support for policy and regulatory components related to food safety.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the start‑up, implementation, and close‑out of the FRESHWAY project in line with scope, budget, timeline and quality requirements.
• Ensure compliance with SNV standards and donor regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical expertise for Component 4, focusing on effective policy and regulatory frameworks for food safety interventions.
• Coordinate with the Ethiopian Agricultural Authority to strengthen food safety systems, including pesticide residue monitoring and Ethio GAP implementation.
• Support private‑sector aggregation hubs, market integration, export promotion and capacity‑building activities.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in managing development projects, preferably in the agri‑food or logistics sector.
• Familiarity with Ethiopian agricultural policies and food safety standards.
