Protection Officer – GBV Case Management & PCM Supervisor

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Protection Officer to supervise Gender‑Based Violence (GBV) case management and Protection Case Management (PCM) in Sanja, Ethiopia. Reporting to the Emergency Response Manager and working under the technical guidance of the Country Office Protection Coordinator, you will ensure high‑quality, survivor‑centred services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to GBV caseworkers and PCM assistants, ensuring compliance with Inter‑Agency GBV Case Management Guidelines.
• Conduct weekly one‑on‑one supervision sessions and bi‑weekly team meetings to review case progress and promote peer learning.
• Review case files bi‑weekly for quality, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Assess staff capacity, identify gaps, and develop targeted action plans.
• Monitor data entry quality and adherence to data protection protocols.
• Deliver training, coaching, and on‑the‑job support on GBV and PCM principles, psychosocial support, referral pathways, and documentation.
• Provide direct case management for complex, high‑risk cases.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in GBV and protection case management, preferably in humanitarian settings.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor staff.
• Strong understanding of survivor‑centred approaches and confidentiality standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
