RAN & Microwave Technician

About the role

Ethio Telecom is seeking a full‑time RAN & Microwave Technician to join its network operations team in Arba Minch. The role focuses on installing, configuring and maintaining Radio Access Network (RAN) and microwave transmission equipment to ensure reliable mobile services across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Perform site inspections, routine and corrective maintenance of RAN and microwave hardware.
• Install, configure and test antennas, transmission links and related telecom infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues in the field.
• Monitor network performance using dedicated tools and support outage resolution.
• Document work performed, complete site acceptance testing and assist with network upgrades.
• Collaborate with network engineers and cross‑functional technical teams while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands‑on experience with installation, configuration and maintenance of telecom equipment.
• Ability to work on‑site in Arba Minch, including field visits, occasional work at heights and shift/on‑call rotations.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to continuous learning in evolving mobile technologies (3G/4G/5G) and transmission standards.
