RAN Optimization Technician

About the role

The RAN Optimization Technician will work on‑site in Dire Dawa, focusing on monitoring, analyzing and improving the Radio Access Network performance. The role ensures high‑quality mobile coverage, capacity and user experience across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and interpret network performance data to identify degradation areas.
• Perform drive tests and troubleshoot radio‑related issues.
• Implement parameter changes and configuration updates to improve KPIs.
• Support field teams during network expansions or upgrades.
• Collaborate with planning and operations teams to maintain stable RAN performance.
• Document optimization activities and report results while adhering to safety standards.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of mobile network technologies (2G/3G/4G, preferably 5G) and RAN architecture.
• Experience with RAN performance monitoring, optimization tools, drive‑test software and KPI analysis platforms.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, network diagrams and vendor guidelines.
• Relevant academic background such as a diploma or degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross‑functional teamwork.
• Willingness to work on‑site, perform occasional field measurements and follow operational safety procedures.
• Prior telecom network operations or optimization experience is an advantage.
