Remote VQI Data Abstractor (Full‑time or Part‑time)

About the role

The VQI Data Abstractor works remotely to collect, abstract, and validate clinical data for one or more Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) registries. The role supports both full‑time and part‑time schedules and ensures high‑quality data submission for vascular surgery patients.

Key responsibilities

• Extract clinical information from patient medical records, focusing on diagnoses, treatments, procedures, and outcomes related to vascular surgery.
• Validate the completeness and accuracy of abstracted data by cross‑referencing multiple sources within each record.
• Enter and maintain data in the VQI registry using specialized software tools.
• Follow ACS and SVS clinical data abstraction guidelines and standards.
• Participate in routine quality‑assurance audits to uphold data integrity.
• Stay current with developments in vascular care and data management practices.

Required profile

• At least two years of recent experience abstracting VQI registry data.
• Familiarity with medical records, billing/documentation practices, and healthcare quality concepts.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• High attention to detail and strong accuracy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• MSN, BSN, or RN preferred; CPHQ certification preferred.
