Sales & Marketing Internship – Publications & Conference Management

About the role

This six‑month internship supports the Publications & Conference Management Section of the Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa. Working full‑time, you will assist the marketing team in creating promotional materials and coordinating outreach activities.

Key responsibilities

• Draft promotional content for websites, emails, brochures, flyers and other sales collateral.
• Conduct basic market research, update online information and keep sales‑marketing databases accurate.
• Assist in planning outreach events and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
• Respond to customer inquiries, provide product and pricing information, and maintain customer records.
• Support administrative tasks such as phone and email communications, order processing, invoicing and logistics.
• Collect data and prepare simple reports to track marketing performance and sales trends.
• Perform other duties as required by the team.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a graduate‑level degree programme (bachelor final year, master or PhD) at the time of application and during the internship.
• Strong command of English; French is also a working language of the UN.
