Senior Accountant – Inventory (Internal/External)

About the role

The Senior Accountant – Inventory is a pivotal position within the Financial Controlling department. You will be responsible for overseeing the full accounting cycle for all stock purchases, ensuring accurate recognition and valuation in line with company policies and international accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end accounting process for inventory transactions.
• Ensure inventory is correctly recognized, measured, and reported.
• Lead and mentor a team of junior accountants, providing guidance and support.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and finance teams to reconcile inventory records.
• Prepare and review inventory‑related financial statements and reports.
• Maintain compliance with Safaricom policies and applicable accounting standards.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Several years of experience in inventory accounting or financial controlling.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Proven leadership or team‑management experience.

Required skills

• Knowledge of inventory valuation methods and international accounting standards.
• Experience with financial reporting and controlling processes.
