Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to lead our finance function in Addis Ababa. The role involves overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and providing actionable insights to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Manage budgeting processes and monitor actual performance against forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian accounting standards, tax regulations and audit requirements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and perform account reconciliations.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Liaise with external auditors to facilitate smooth audit cycles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or ACCA preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior accounting or financial management role.
• Experience in FMCG, pharmaceutical or distribution sectors is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budget management and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and leadership abilities.
• Effective organizational and communication skills.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Data management capabilities.
