Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead day‑to‑day accounting operations for Prasino Construction Materials Import PLC, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, review journal entries, and reconcile key accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow monitoring, and working‑capital management.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring proper cost allocation for imported materials and projects.
• Maintain compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Assist internal and external audits and strengthen internal controls.
• Guide junior accounting staff and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior or lead role within trading, import, or construction businesses.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and audit processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities with high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel.
• Hands‑on experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong MS Office skills.
