Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will be based in Addis Ababa and will manage day‑to‑day accounting operations for the company. This full‑time, on‑site position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing statements and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Process accounts payable, invoices, expense reports and ensure timely payments.
• Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Perform bank reconciliations and support payroll processing and tax calculations.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis for business planning.
• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls.
• Provide financial insights to leadership and other departments.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in advertising or services.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Knowledge of Ethiopian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with leadership and cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Peachtree accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; familiarity with Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience using ERP or other accounting systems.
• Strong technical accounting abilities including ledger management and account reconciliation.
