Senior Backend Engineer - Node.js & AWS (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Node.js and AWS to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for a high‑traffic platform. This contract role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy Node.js‑based microservices using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, and CloudFormation.
• Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement secure and efficient RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Lead architectural decisions for cloud infrastructure, including serverless and containerized solutions.
• Monitor system health, debug issues, and create automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Node.js backend development.
• Strong proficiency with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation).
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or ECS).
• Knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, end‑to‑end) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of infrastructure‑as‑code tools like Terraform.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team.
