Senior Programme Management Consultant – Ethiopia AHEAD Immunization (6 months)

About the role

The AHEAD initiative supports Ethiopia in improving sub‑national immunisation data quality and use. UNICEF is seeking a senior consultant to provide country‑level programme management, coordination and documentation for AHEAD‑related analytics. The role will ensure analytical outputs are translated into clear decision‑making tools for national stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with UNICEF Ethiopia Country Office, Ministry of Health and partners to implement AHEAD activities.
• Organise and follow up technical meetings, workshops and engagement discussions, maintaining a tracker of activities and decisions.
• Document Ethiopia‑specific AHEAD work, including data quality reviews, denominator assessments and triangulation of findings.
• Develop and maintain a rolling workplan covering milestones, deliverables, responsibilities and timelines.
• Prepare briefing notes, presentations, FAQs and other communication materials to translate analytical findings into actionable messages.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Masters) in Public/Global Health, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems or related field.
• Three to five years of programme management or coordination experience in large‑scale global health or immunisation initiatives, preferably in Ethiopia.
• Fluency in English and Amharic; knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Teams.
• Experience using cloud‑based project or knowledge‑management systems.
