Senior Project Associate (Safe Motherhood and Adolescent Health)

About the role

The Compliance and Systems Director (CSD) is a senior member of People in Need’s Ethiopia country programme, reporting to the Country Director. Based in Addis Ababa, the CSD ensures that all programme activities comply with internal policies, donor requirements and local regulations while overseeing the core support functions of logistics, procurement, finance and human resources.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance and oversight on the interpretation and implementation of donor contractual requirements and internal procedures.
• Lead and improve the country‑level support systems for logistics, procurement, finance and HR to meet accountability standards.
• Supervise heads of Finance, Operations and HR (or equivalent roles) and ensure effective cross‑functional collaboration.
• Develop and deliver capacity‑building programmes for staff across all departments.
• Maintain an enabling environment for programme implementation while ensuring compliance with all external and internal regulations.

Required profile

• Senior professional with extensive experience in compliance, systems management or operations within humanitarian or development NGOs.
• Strong knowledge of donor regulations, procurement standards and financial management in an international context.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive organisational improvements.
• Experience working in Ethiopia or similar contexts is highly desirable.
