Senior Statistics Assistant – Data Capability & Geospatial Knowledge

About the role

The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is seeking a Senior Statistics Assistant to join the Data Capability and Geospatial Knowledge Section of the African Centre for Statistics. The incumbent will support the production, dissemination and use of high‑quality statistical data that underpins evidence‑based policymaking across the continent.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, evaluate, process and analyse statistical data from diverse sources.
• Process, classify and ensure internal consistency of data; reconcile discrepancies in data series.
• Build specialised datasets for research projects or reporting requirements.
• Prepare charts, graphs and other visual outputs for reports and presentations.
• Develop, test and implement software solutions to address specific statistical needs.
