About the role

The Compliance and Systems Director (CSD) is a senior member of the Ethiopia country programme senior management team, reporting to the Country Director. The role oversees compliance, logistics, procurement, finance and HR functions to ensure efficient delivery of the programme and adherence to donor and internal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Finance, Procurement, Logistics and HR teams, ensuring adequate staffing, capacity building and compliance with internal procedures and donor requirements.
• Oversee financial systems (ELO, Navision), budgeting, reporting, audits and cost optimisation across the country programme.
• Manage procurement processes, update guidelines, conduct regular audits and mitigate corruption risks.
• Direct logistics operations, asset registry, fleet planning and inventory control.
• Ensure HR policies are applied, manage recruitment, staff induction, evaluations, contracts and capacity development.

Required profile

• Senior professional with extensive experience in compliance, systems management and multi‑department leadership in humanitarian or development settings.
• Proven ability to work with donors, local authorities and partners, and to represent the organisation externally.
