Tax Lawyer

About the role

EasyPOS is seeking a full‑time Tax Lawyer to join its on‑site legal team in Addis Ababa. You will provide expert guidance on corporate and indirect tax matters, ensuring the company’s operations remain compliant with Ethiopian tax legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Review and draft tax‑related contracts, policies, and internal documents.
• Advise on tax‑efficient business structures and support tax planning for transactions.
• Monitor changes in Ethiopian tax law and ensure timely filings and payments.
• Manage communications with tax authorities, including audits, disputes, and rulings.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and leadership to assess tax risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Prepare internal summaries, training materials, and guidance for non‑legal stakeholders.

Required profile

• LL.B degree with specialization or postgraduate studies in Tax Law (preferred).
• Membership in good standing with the Ethiopian bar association or legal licensing body.
• Proven experience interpreting and applying Ethiopian tax legislation.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Amharic proficiency is a plus.
• High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
