Team Lead – AWS Student Builder Group

About the role

The AWS Student Builder Group at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University is seeking a full‑time Team Lead to drive community activities, mentor peers, and deliver hands‑on cloud projects. This hybrid position blends on‑campus presence with remote work, offering a dynamic environment for students passionate about cloud technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all group activities and ensure successful completion of cloud‑based projects.
• Coordinate with team members, schedule meetings, and manage event planning.
• Mentor peers, facilitate technical workshops, and support members in AWS certification pathways.
• Promote AWS resources across campus and foster collaboration with other technical communities.
• Balance on‑site and remote work to maintain continuous engagement.

Required profile

• Strong leadership, mentorship, and team‑management abilities.
• Knowledge of cloud computing basics and core AWS services (compute, storage, networking, databases).
• Technical background in distributed systems, AI, machine learning, and DevOps practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience planning events and engaging community members.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred.
