Technical Lead – Sector

About the role

World Vision Ethiopia is seeking a Technical Lead to provide sector‑specific technical leadership, donor engagement and resource acquisition. Reporting to the Technical Director, the role oversees Technical Specialists, ensures program quality and aligns initiatives with organisational priorities and donor expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the sector’s Technical Specialists, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Develop, contextualise and periodically review the sector strategy in line with national and global frameworks.
• Drive donor engagement and resource mobilisation, contributing to the national funding portfolio through proposal design, concept notes and technical annexes.
• Support capacity building of local institutions and smaller NGOs to ensure compliance with project standards.
• Enforce resource stewardship, ensuring efficient utilisation, internal controls and satisfactory audit results.
• Represent World Vision Ethiopia with donors, government, UN agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical leadership within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Demonstrated success in donor engagement and resource mobilisation.
• Strong ability to manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of evidence‑based program design and child‑focused development approaches.
• Experience working with local institutions, NGOs and faith‑based organisations.
