TSFP Officer

About the role

The TSFP Officer will support health‑center nutrition screening, early case detection and referral for acute malnutrition within Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programs (TSFP). Working closely with community facilitators and partners, the officer ensures that vulnerable children under five and pregnant or lactating women receive timely nutritional care in line with national protocols and UNHCR guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist health centres in planning and conducting systematic nutrition screening and establishing functional referral pathways.
• Coordinate food distribution, site preparation for IDPs, and community mobilisation for nutrition activities.
• Guide and monitor referrals to outpatient therapeutic programs (OTP) or stabilization centres (SC) and follow up on defaulters.
• Conduct clinical examinations, verify discharge criteria, and ensure immunisation status for children.
• Maintain adequate supplies (MUAC tapes, registration forms, guidelines) at health facilities and field points.
• Support community outreach, home visits and absentee tracing to strengthen referral linkages.

Required profile

• Experience in nutrition screening, acute malnutrition case management or related humanitarian health programmes.
• Familiarity with national nutrition protocols, SPHERE standards and UNHCR guidelines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with health staff, community facilitators and partner organisations.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for reporting and supply management.
