Director of Strategy, Marketing & Business Development

About the role

The Director will lead the Strategy, Marketing & Business Development Department of Ethio Life and General Insurance, shaping long‑term growth, market positioning and product development for the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive strategic plans aligned with corporate objectives.
• Lead marketing initiatives, brand management and communication campaigns.
• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and partnerships.
• Oversee market research, competitive analysis and customer insights.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources and performance metrics.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless execution of strategies.
• Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and industry standards.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators to senior leadership.

Required profile

• BA/MA degree in Marketing Management, Strategic Management, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years (BA) or 8 years (MA) of relevant experience.
• At least 5 years (BA) or 3 years (MA) in a division‑manager role covering planning, business development, marketing or strategy.
• Basic knowledge of the insurance business.
• Strong planning, organizing and controlling abilities.
• High dedication, hard‑working attitude and ability to work well in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard computer applications (e.g., MS Office).
