About the role
The Bank of Abyssinia is seeking qualified legal professionals to join its legal department in Addis Ababa. Two positions are available: an Associate Foreclosure & Debt Litigation Officer and a Foreclosure and Debt Litigation Officer. Both roles focus on managing the bank’s foreclosure and debt recovery processes, ensuring compliance with Ethiopian banking regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Handle complex legal matters, including court proceedings related to debt, loan litigation, criminal cases, and tribunal matters.
- Identify emerging trends in loan defaults that may affect the bank’s risk exposure.
- Provide legal analysis and draft advice concerning the credit process to protect the bank from legal vulnerabilities.
- Review and confirm that all legally required documents are accurate and complete.
Required profile
- LLB degree in Law.
- Minimum of 2 years (associate) or 3 years (senior) experience in the banking sector.
- Demonstrated ability to manage litigation and understand banking regulations.
