Nutrition Officer (NO-2) – Fixed Term – Hawassa, Ethiopia

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Nutrition Officer (NO‑2) on a fixed‑term basis to support the design, implementation and monitoring of nutrition programmes in Hawassa, Ethiopia. The officer will work within the Country Programme to ensure that nutrition interventions are evidence‑based, results‑oriented and aligned with UNICEF’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and update situation analyses to inform the development of nutrition projects.
• Assist in setting sectoral goals, objectives and results‑based plans based on identified nutrition needs.
• Provide technical and operational support throughout all programme phases, from planning to delivery and reporting.
• Monitor programme progress, contribute to evaluations and prepare regular reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with partners, government agencies and UNICEF teams to ensure coordinated implementation.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in Nutrition, Public Health or a related field.
• Professional experience in nutrition programme design and implementation, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Knowledge of UNICEF’s nutrition policies and standards.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and travel within Ethiopia as needed.
