Professor & Department Coordinator – Mechanical Engineering

About the role

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Shaggar Institute of Technology seeks a dynamic Professor and Department Coordinator. The successful candidate will lead curriculum development, coordinate international virtual teaching programs, and ensure alignment with ABET accreditation standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously improve the Mechanical Engineering curriculum to meet global standards.
• Coordinate and support a hybrid teaching program involving faculty from the United States, Europe, and other regions.
• Oversee course quality, monitor student progress, and ensure compliance with ABET accreditation requirements.
• Supervise student projects and integrate cutting‑edge research and industry innovations into coursework.
• Participate in departmental and institutional governance through academic committees.
• Develop collaborations with national and international research and technology organizations.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Academic or research experience at the rank of Associate Professor or higher.
• Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in an academic setting.
• Strong track record in teaching, research, and mentorship.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite.
• Computer‑aided design software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo).
• Engineering analysis and simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, MATLAB/Simulink).
• Computational fluid dynamics software (ANSYS Fluent).
• Modern manufacturing, testing, and data acquisition systems.
