Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Addis Ababa office. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting the finance team in an import/export environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting transactions, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Perform bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow and handle foreign‑currency transactions.
• Review invoices, receipts and supporting documents for accuracy.
• Support import and export accounting documentation and compliance.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance and internal audits.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in import/export, trading or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Proven ability to prepare balance sheets, income statements and cash‑flow reports.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with accounting/ERP software.
