Senior Backend Engineer – Node.js & AWS (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Node.js and AWS to join a high‑traffic platform on a contract basis. The role is fully remote and focuses on designing, building and maintaining scalable, low‑latency services in a cloud‑native environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy Node.js‑based microservices using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS and CloudFormation.
• Optimize backend performance, scalability and reliability for millions of daily users.
• Implement secure and efficient RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Lead architectural decisions for cloud infrastructure and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS).
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues and establish automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional Node.js backend development experience.
• Proven ability to work independently in a distributed, remote team.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture and infrastructure‑as‑code concepts.
