Senior Backend Engineer – Node.js & AWS (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Node.js and AWS to join a high‑traffic platform on a contract basis. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable micro‑services in a cloud‑native environment while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy Node.js‑based micro‑services using AWS services.
• Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Lead architectural decisions for cloud infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
• Monitor system health, debug issues, and create automated testing suites.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional Node.js backend development experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with core AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation).
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote, distributed team.
