Senior Site Civil Engineer – Overhead Transmission Lines

About the role

We are looking for a senior site civil engineer to lead the civil works of overhead transmission line projects (400 kV‑765 kV) in Ethiopia. The role involves supervising all construction phases, ensuring compliance with international QA/QC standards and delivering safe, high‑quality infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise civil construction activities including access roads, soil investigations, excavation, foundations and tower footing protection.
• Manage excavation and foundation works independently on‑site.
• Verify that all works meet technical designs, material specifications and safety standards.
• Coordinate with the Construction Manager and other site engineers.
• Prepare and submit Daily Progress Reports and participate in Joint Measurement Committee meetings.
• Support billing and invoicing processes related to civil works.
• Promote a safe, compliant and healthy work environment.

Required profile

• 12 + years of experience in high‑voltage transmission line projects (380 kV‑765 kV).
• Proven execution experience of Overhead Transmission Lines (OHTL).
• Experience with pile foundation works is an advantage.
• Ability to join immediately or within 30 days.
• Strong leadership, coordination and communication skills.
